Saugus Police Respond to Fatal Automobile Incident Involving Pedestrian
SAUGUS — Assistant Chief Ronald Giorgetti reports that the Saugus Police Department responded to a fatal automobile incident involving a pedestrian at a gas station this morning.
At approximately 9:51 a.m., police received a report of a vehicle on top of a person at the Sunoco Gas Station, 700 Broadway (Route 1).
Upon arrival, first responders observed a 36-year-old female who was trapped under her vehicle, a Chevy Captiva. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Saugus Fire Department and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section also responded to the scene.
Saugus Police are actively investigating what caused the woman to become trapped under the vehicle and will not be releasing the identity of the victim or any further information at this time.
Police ask that the media respect the privacy of the victim’s family during this difficult time.
